I have had a lot of ideas over the past few months regarding shows and things. One of the things that i think will be funny is a comic strip depicting a character that asks for a cigarette at the most inappropriate times. But you really have to read it to fully understand. Anyway, I was puzzling over the idea that everone in this planet had an individual outlook on life, so how do you know if something is funny, or interesting? This is certainly an issue i will have to play with and try to create something brand new and refreshinly original. But nowadays the boundaries are being pushed further and further and the idea of being original is hurting yourself badly for entertainment value. I mean, what do i have to do... have a spasm in mid...
...aahgg woo woo. AAAAAAAAHHHH!...
...sentance? Is that funny? It certainly is original. But no one understands it, so therefore it is not funny. It a tricky balancing act. But one which, I'm sure, I will have fun trying.
I'm not even sure what this post was trying to say, but then again, does it matter? If anyone read this, then it's reason enough to write it, I think.
Peace.

Maybe because you can't find meaning or derive any humour from it in a conventional sense, the only reaction you can think of is to laugh.
That was the method of Andy Kaufman. He used to do so much far out "humour" that the audience wouldn't know how to react and laugh through sheer disbelief.
And yes, I have heard of Saturday Night Live. We get it on satellite TV, but recently it hasn't been showing. And did you know, Andy Kaufman appeared on the very first episode miming the theme to mighty mouse (the part when it says "Here I come to save the Day").
I'm often plagued with ideas for plays, movies, and more and more often comic strips that I consider hilarious, but fail to find support for. I suppose you could argue that I'm just an idiot who can't draw, but that's not really the point. Is it?
Maybe I should download some of this Kaufman guy. I've heard of him, but I don't really know anything about him.
Much love,
Fromstein
Some guy calling himself Andy has a blog on this very site. It's seriously not him though. I laughed when i read it. See for yourself.
