Where are the Parents?

I have become increasingly concerned with the rise of the 'yob culture' in Britain. There seems to be more youth related violent crimes than I remember in my childhood, and of what my parents talk of. I mean, football hooliganism was a problem in the seventies, but that was all rooted around a sport and the police could kind of predict it. But now, there seems to be little motive behind more recent crimes, for instance, I heard on the news today that a gang of youths attacked a ten year old yesterday, who now has been named as the youngest victim of the 'Yob culture'.
And the story of the young kid who was racially attacked by two thugs, with an axe. The news said that they hit him with so much force that the axe bedded itself into his forehead. His funeral service was today. I watched the report on the news this morning and thought to myself... "hell in a handbasket".

Is it too late? Is the human race already doomed to destroy itself?
