I have recently bought an item of ebay that my father has given me a little shit about. Saying that I am strange and I need to "sort myself out"....
The item is a printed replica of Andy Kaufman's death certificate. Now, wait before you go off and call the men in white coats, I did not go out looking for this item, I simply types the name "Andy Kaufman" into ebay and this item appeared, and I thought: "Oh... this is a stramge item, I might as well buy it."
What my dad doesn't understand is the big hoax of Andy faking his death. Is the certificate real?... is it a made-up phoney and Andy is living in Aruba or somewhere else in this world? That's why I decided to buy it...
So anyone who is reading this... will they please give me some opinion as to wether this purchase has placed me in the queue to get a large "insane" stamp on my head and led off to the padded cells. Personally, I think it's quite a funny thing to have because of the mystery surrounding the subject matter, but again, that may be the insanity talking.
Ibi da.

Wierdo's unite.
hey I saw your comment on our lovely Petunia's blog, and no you are not weird or insane for this purchase.
Then again, not too long ago I made an eBay purchase which caused me to receive some grimaces from friends: an original New York Times newspaper from May 19, 1865 - the heading reads THE TRIAL OF THE ASSASSINS...I bought it becasue I'm obsessed with the men who conspired to bring down the Union Government by murdering Lincoln and attempting to kill the vice president and secretary of state.
wouldn't that be nice P...
that wouldn't work... they would all get distracted with copious amounts of weed and "free love"
Put aside the issue that by purchasing this particular item you have contributed to some other individual "printing money" in the niche market of Andy Kaufman memorabilia...
The real perspective of this is how YOU feel about it. It's like art..if it gives you pleasure to own it and savor it then its probably worth what you paid for it because the ultimate worth of anything is simply its value to the individual who has expended his own treasure to call it his own. So enjoy it!
